Another season has come and gone

SDBF 2014 has come and gone. The two mini dbters here would like to congratulate all those who have done well and also to encourage all those who didn't meet their personal expectations. I feel out of sync with the local db season because Nteam doesn't peak for the races according to the local races like how we used to when we were in our tertiary / club teams.

Anyway, race days are always good days to catch up with long lost batch mates or teammies from before Nteam. Can't say the same for Jos but I definitely had a good time catching up with my ex pacer from back in SP days.

July is here, July is also almost ending. There goes the last 'free' Saturday of the year maybe? Schedule is up and running and gearing up for high intensity training. The Technical Director from Myanmar is here to oversee our programs and I really hope we can meet his expectations and raise our level.

Both of us haven't been updating here much because we are all so swamped. Whatever free time I have, I just wanna plonk myself in bed. Will try to be more diligent in updating this space cause it'll be a good place for me to relive my good days in Nteam when I am not in it anymore.

Blood, sweat, tears. To have all of you with me in this journey, it's irreplaceable. I know I haven't been the best teammate out there but I will be better. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the times you all have forgiven me. I thank this team for all I have. It's not what all of you can do for me, but what I can do for you.

And to Josmin Ong, my partner in crime, thanks for always being here.

Teamwork makes the dream work.

Major events x Plans for second half of 2014

This space is so dead, its like a cemetery ... and worst, because at least some adventure seekers will visit the cemeteries, meh.

Okay, after DBS Regatta 2014 with the team, we took a tiger to a foreign land called Macau for ADBC (Asian Dragonboat Championships) 2014 & Macau Internationals. Sadly, our 5 race days were cut down to 2 and race results were not ideal. And i like to believe that failure allows us to learn our lesson better and teach us the harder way. "Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end." Enough said, shall let the pictures do the talking (all the pictures are original, taken by either my teamies or myself).

Girls Team before flying off.
Reaching our destination, Macau.
Apprently Tiger Airways is the only flight that reaches Macau directly from Singapore, therefore we chose to take it rather than transit at Hong Kong. (cheaper as well)
View of the horsing race course from the Hotel.
Got hosted at Taipa Square Hotel, pretty good and comfortable.
Two to a room, clean and provide all the basic immensities we needed.
Television, minibar etc etc.
First meal of the trip, dinner at a local 'restaurant'.
Because the shops are very much smaller than those in Singapore, its more like a shophouse or teahouse rather than a restaurant. Food wasn't too bad but its a little oily and all for us.
Some personal items here, such as my favourite softtoy/ craftholic doll (Jill).
And bottled YAKULT, mad love this drink and everyone in the team buys bottles of it back to the hotel after grocery shopping because we only get the tiny bottle versions in Singapore. (another brand but taste all the same as Yakult)
Hosted welcome dinner by the organising committee of ADBC 2014, many guest were there such as the President of the International Dragonboat Federation (IDBF) and the teams from various countries of course. We were sitted right behind the China mens team and boy... can they eat quickly :>  Think we had a 12 course dinner :O
Team Manager :)
Trivium paddles/ our battle items.
TEAMIES IS LOVE.
Macau's icon/ Macau Towers (does anyone want to sponsor us to bungee jump?)
Walked to one of their busier streets for food and snacks from the hotel.
Have i mentioned that teamies is love/ batchmates so to speak with Felicia & Landy, Pamee is an OLDOLDOLDbird :>  (i think she is going to kill me after she reads all these)
So thankful for my babygirl. (on the streets)
(debrief)
Random decision to chop off my hair, finally cut my hair short after what seems like forever (actually no, probably 6 years or so, but this is even shorter than my hair when i was 15 years old so oh wells). BBG is there to witness it all and to tell me if the hair suits me, haha.
The stupid things we do, this was before my haircut evidently.
Heading to the ferry terminal.
On our way to Hong Kong via ferry from Macau, no race so off for an impromptu outing.
Cute girl with cute balloons (Y) On Victoria Peak.
We're bringing sexyback ~  Purposely bought the same nike tank tops to wear to HongKong together :)
Powerpuff girls at Victoria Peak (love the view & the company)
Race site/ Venetian & Galaxy hotel.
Streets of Hong Kong.
Final team photo for this trip, sums up pretty much everything.
Same same but different. Stronger and better mindset to the fight thats to come.
How can i forget this, my current work PC desktop wallpaper. Motivation.

Sports Hub opened its doors in July 2014 in Singapore and the preview night was great with the fireworks display. Stopped our weights training for about 10minutes to enjoy the show and take team photos :)

#gopro #teamies #ilovemyteamies
And in that moment, i swear we were infinite.
#sportshub #singapore #lights
This was what i posted on my personal IG.
And all along we were looking at the side view of the display.

Professionals took this from the backview.

July 2014 crept in, slowly but surely.
And plans are getting more finalised as we prepare for the big game next year.
One chance.

Oh, and a BIG SURPRISE is brewing.
Will update here too when its ready to be shared :)

Till the next update,
TOODLES.
