The 3 Musketeers

We had a short workout during today's lunch so I'll update a little first. (Still waiting for Jos to send me yesterday's run and scenery pictures) (HURRY UP!) (No picture post)

ZL, Jos and I met up for a gym session this lunch because it's kinda rush-y to try and clear everything at night and there are tons of stations and statics to be done. This is the start of a new week and there is a new program this week. There will be different gym programs every week night and a select group of teammies will go down into the water with Coach to learn the improvised stroke. The rest who do not go down will just focus on land training (gym, statics and run (if time permits)).

For the month of January and February, we are focusing more on strength training so we are whacking really heavy weights now. Be prepared for pictures of she-hulks in future blog posts hehehe :p (ok wait, actually both Jos and ZL already look like she-hulks...)

I was chosen to go down and row yesterday so I missed the gym and have to make up ;/ thank god for the company of this two monsters :) It's really great and fulfilling to gym with people (you're comfortable with) because they can push you to greater heights that you never knew you could reach!

Upper body exercises (think bench presses and bench pulls) make up the bulk of our stations. There are alot of upper body stations and I foresee more arms stations too because the new stroke requires some arms. It will take some getting used to but nothing is impossible. We just got to keep practicing. Legs are also incorporated into the gym program (lunges, starjumps (which I suck at)) hahahaha not to forget the dreaded core exercises LOL.

Can't really think of anything else to update anymore but I feel that I'm getting a little stronger, judging by the weights I can carry now. Really glad for this little progress, a small step forward is better than being stagnant. I will continue to train harder and it is really heartening to know what I have 20+ others with me (: working towards the same goals.

We can only become stronger, better and faster from hereon.
There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.
