gym bunnies :3 :3
Good afternoon people. I am perched daintily (I WISH) on my swivel chair in the office, facing Marina Bay Sands whilst typing this mini update :D Was super moodless to gym this lunch after receiving news that there will be no team training until the team meeting on the 19th :O WHY!!!! I was so looking forward to training! Missed you guys so much, you don't even know and I can't even.... Describe? LOL #clingy #possessive teammate much. Sorry girlzies, you girls are my life.

Super relieved that we cleared most of our OTOT program already. Well, it should be almost cleared because we've been holing ourselves up in the gym for the past 4 days. People always say I have no life, they think we have no life. What they don't understand is that, this IS our life.
This being a supposed 'fitness' blog. Lemme try and explain why we do medicine ball throws. Have never given it much thought before because we trust that coach knows what's best for us. So med ball exercises, at the back of my mind is just to train explosiveness, coordination (with partner), improve core strength plus it also helps with the twisting motion that we need for dragonboat.
After reading this article here(lol I googled hehe :X) I found out that I was not wrong and that there are more benefits to med ball that I knew.
- Throws and Explosive Strength - This is almost like the fast twitch motion. If you throw the medicine ball hard and fast, you need this the ability to contract your muscles quickly to catch and throw the ball back to your partner and all these happens in less than a second. Power is channeled from the lower body to upper body so our legs are stronger and more important that we think.
- Balance and Stability - There is no quality strength without balance and stability because we cannot give power if we aren't stable. (does that even make sense?) When we throw the ball, our hips and torso need to stabilize since we're moving the upper body. If we focus just on balancing ourselves, our power isn't there. If we want to put in more power, we are unstable. Therefore, med ball throws provide us with the basic stability training.
- Cooperation - This point goes without saying, obviously because if you and your partner cannot cooperate, you cannot catch or throw the ball properly. ''When done with a partner it can develop social skills, teamwork and accountability'' Oooooh~
There are many kinds of exercises you can do with a medicine ball. Google and try them out. Have fun :D

We are Pam & Jos, also know as The Loudhailers, Surround Sound, Loudspeakers.. whatever you wanna call us.
We live in Singapore and are in the Dragonboat team. We write and keep this blog mainly for our own progression, to see how far we've come from the bottom where we have started. Being 3 years apart in age hasn't stopped us from developing this bond that we now share. We usually know what the other is thinking even without having to spell it out. Maybe you wanna call us "Bananas in PyJamas" instead? 'Are you thinking what I am, J1?' ' I think I am, P1'
We may behave alike but we are different. As with everyone, we do get into quarrels and such but those are usually resolved in a matter of seconds. Meow!
We have different body structures although similiar in height/weight. We also hope to inspire, encourage, motivate anyone and everyone out there who is afraid to begin working out towards your dreams or goals. Being different allows us to show others how different workout/diets actually have on different body types.
This blog probably documents all the times we have in the gym together, building up our bodies to be the best version it can be. And all the outings and trips that we enjoy together as well as to immortalize our friendship cause when we're gone one day, this blog will still be here. And we will always have each other :D
